Benigno Servillano Aquino Aquino, Jr. (November 27, 1932 – August 21, 1983), popularly known as Ninoy Aquino or Benigno S. Aquino, Jr., was a Philippine senator and a leading oppositionist to the autocratic rule of Ferdinand Marcos. He was assassinated at the Manila International Airport (now named the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in his honor) upon returning home from exile in the United States. His death catapulted his widow, Corazon Aquino, to the limelight and subsequently to the presidency, replacing the 20-year-old Marcos regime. (more…)

It’s currently 12 AM in China and here in the Philippines; the Olympic Cauldron has officially been lit up and will stay open for 16 days. Beijing Olympics 2008 will happen starting today, August 8 until August 24, 2008.

After wowing South Korea, USA, and England, Charice Pempengco wows another country: Italy.
Charice performed and wowed the Italian crowd at the birthday concert of Italian operatic pop tenor Andrea Bocelli last July 20, 2008 at the Theater of Silence of Lajatico, Italy. The birthday concert was dubbed “The Cinema Tribute.” (more…)
