Rain’s Speed Racer is a waste of money
According to USA Today, “Speed Racer” is worthy of only 1.5 stars. And that low rating is not even attributed to Rain’s acting - it’s the entire movie. We anticipated failure, but who knew that it was going to be this bad.
Interestingly, despite the harsh reviews in the US, ticket sales for Speed Racer is almighty high in Korea, beating the blockbuster “Iron Man” in the box office. Again, Koreans are not ashamed to support bad movies if it boosts national pride somehow.
After reading the review, I’m skeptical about Rain’s Hollywood film debut, but I guess I owe it to Magic Fit Feet to shell out $10 this weekend for a review. (Credits: Popseoul.com)
Bada & Paran to attend “Korean Film Festival in Vietnam”
Bada was invited in this year’s “Korean Film Festival in Vietnam,” which will be held from May 8-10 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi. The event is co-hosted by the Korean Film Council and Vietnam’s Ministry of Information & Culture.
Korean movies that will be shown during the festival are “Our Life’s Best Moment,” “Tube,” “Welcome to Dongmakgol,” ” Marathon,” and “Hwangjini.” Aside from Bada, Paran and actress Lee Young Ah were also invited to the event.
With regard to her appearance in the said event, Bada expressed that she will be performing her best in the ceremony and is happy to contribute to the cultural exchange between South Korea and Vietnam. (Credits: Newsis.com, Krnloop)
YG + Mnet Media = music powerhouse
Mnet Media and YG Entertainment are now official business partners.
Mnet has acquired 10% shares of YG Entertainment and YG Entertainment and also Yang Hyun Suk have secured a part of Mnet Media, which strengthened the partnership between the two companies.
The agreement between the two has also given Mnet Media the rights to exclusively distribute in Korea and aborad the albums and digital music of YG Entertainment singers.
According to Mnet Media President Park Kwang Won, Mnet Media not only has coverage on YG Entertainment’s music but also in the future its television and concert contents.
