I’ll just share this with you after watching this last night from the news. ^^

MANILA, Philippines - One million pesos could have changed the life of this young waiter but he opted to return the cash to its rightful owner. In return, he was given a P100,000 reward.

GMA news 24 Oras on Wednesday reported that Alexander Latag picked up the cash placed inside a plastic bag which was left by costumer named Rose Rafael at the Cyma restaurant.

Rafael, the report said, was suppose to use the money for her trip to Canada.

“I was shocked when I saw the money,” Latag said when asked about his reaction when he discovered the cash.

“I felt nervous. I didn’t know what to do, then I remember my mother’s advice if not yours don’t take it,”he added, speaking in Filipino.

The report added that the owner of the cash phoned the restaurant that evening and asked about the money she has left.

Arrangements were then made for the return of the case.

“I was surprised too upon learning about the big cash,” said Jay Espinosa, restaurant branch manager. “At first they thought garbage was inside the plastic bag…after that… it’s great. That money could have changed his life but instead… his (Latag) concern was the feeling of the owner of the cash.”

For the honesty Latag he demonstrated, his co-workers were very proud of him. …more Fidel Jimenez, GMANews.TV
