BIG BANG: 1st and 2nd in Hanteo’s annual album sales chart
BIG BANG has managed to occupy the first and second place of Hanteo’s annual album sales chart, which was published online last May 11.
BIG BANG’s 1st mini album “Always” sold about 87,000 copies while its 2nd mini album “Hot Issue” sold around 81,000 copies. The sales of the two mini albums totaled to about 168,000 copies, a very encouraging number despite the bad situation of the Korean music industry.
Yangpa’s 5th album ranked 3rd and was followed by SG Wanna Be’s 4th album and Kim Dong Ryul’s 5th album, respectively.
“The 1st and 2nd mini album were released in August and November last year and we’re very happy that they’re selling. The 2nd mini album was actually sold for more than 90,000 copies and we’re expecting that it’ll immediately go over 100,000 copies,” a YG Entertainment official said.
Not only BIG BANG’s mini albums were included in the Hanteo ranking but also its 2nd live album entitled “The Great,” which ranked 61st, 1st album called “Since 2007,” which placed 39th, and 1st single album, which ranked 96th.

U-know: most popular among ajumma fans
During May 10’s episode of KBS2 “Entertainment Relay,” TVXQ was asked which of its members is most popular among “ajumma” fans. According to the members of the popular quintet, U-know is the most popular among this fan bracket. U-know was also said as the most popular member in Japan, courtesy of his “ajumma” fans.
U-know then joked about his popularity among ajummas and said, “I’m calling out to noona fans.”
Meanwhile, TVXQ just finished its 3rd LIVE TOUR 2008 ~T~ that attracted more than 150,000 fans. Moreover, tickets to this tour were sold out in just a second. (Newsen, Krnloop.wordpress.com)
Yang Dong-gun enlists in secret
I am Sam teacher, Yang Dong-gun enlisted to the army in secret last Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 unlike other (popular) celebrities who are usually accompanied by upset fans and paparazzi when enlisting.
According to Yang Dong-gun’s management, his secret enlistment reflects his personality. Apparently, he’s a very private person and wanted to spend his last days with close family and friends. I guess he doesn’t think too highly of his fans.

“Love is…” concert
Lee Ki Chan, Lee Soo Young and Tim are holding a musical-like concert entitled “Love Is…” on May 23 at the Jamsil Stadium.
For the said concert, “Ballad Queen” Lee Soo Young plans to invite handicapped children while Lee Ki Chan and Tim are expected to attract the female crowd who are in their teens to thirties. (Joynews24, Krnloop.wordpress.com)
